Now, it’s all over but the unpacking, rearranging, and hanging pictures – all of which will, as these things go, take some time. But the day close associates of the Women’s Center have awaited for some months arrived Friday. LPTS Facilities Staff - who have our deep thanks – moved our remaining furnishings and our computer into three rooms on the ground floor of White Hall, and hauled away a bathroomful of what were no doubt once useful items, but had become unwanted junk.
Now we’re looking forward to getting the bugs worked out of our internet connection for the computer so we can keep in touch with our fans by e-mail. In the meantime, and in the future, however, we can be reached by phone at (502) 895-3411 extension 285 (for the Women’s Center) and 376 (for the Acting Director).
Of course, there is still work to be done:
We are now actively searching for a desk for the office that will be more functional, and perhaps even a little more attractive, than our current one.
We’ll be unpacking our books, which are longing to breathe free, and setting up a reading room in one of the rooms this week.
We’ll be taking some time to make the other room into a workroom/small conference room, by finding and outfitting it with a useful table and chairs.
All of this is cause for great rejoicing around the Women’s Center! We are looking forward to decorating the new space (WE LOVE IT!) and sharing our joy with everyone soon – plans are underway for an open house.
