2009 marks the 11th annual international Transgender Day of Remembrance.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day set aside to honor and remember those who have been victims of violence directed at transgender people, and to raise public awareness about this violence and the need to end it.

7:30 p.m., Women’s Center, 101 White Hall, Louisville Seminary campus- Films (to be announced) will deal with transgender and related themes; discussion follows screening of each film
- Transgender 101 Seminar —

Women’s Center, 101 White Hall, Louisville Seminary campus- Beth Harrison-Prado will lead an informative presentation on terms, concepts, issues, and myths relating to transgender people and concerns

The 2009 observance of the Transgender Day of Remembrance is organized by the Women’s Center at LPTS, Sienna, More Light at LPTS, LGBT Services at the University of Louisville, Diversity Consultants, Transformations, Metropolitan Community Church, S.O. Theatrical, and the Fairness Campaign.
