It is hard to believe that in less than two weeks we will be hearing from the Third Katie Geneva Cannon lecturer since the inauguration of this special lecture series, sponsored in its entirety by the Women’s Center at LPTS! [Full details of the event, which has several components, as well as access to online registration can be obtained at ]
And yet, we believe it — as the elements of the event are rapidly coming together. We are looking forward to hearing from Dr. Stacey M. Floyd Thomas, Associate Professor of Ethics and Director of Black Church Studies at Brite Divinity School.
In the meantime, we — that is, the Katie Geneva Cannon Lecture and Consultation Planning Committee — are busily collecting registrations [Is yours among them??] and getting ready to prepare packets, assembling items for the Spring Silent Auction [please feel free to bring yours to the Women’s Center 3/17, 18, 24, and 25] which will take place during the lecture, ordering food for the reception that will precede the lecture and for the lunch in the Women’s Center that will follow Dr. Floyd-Thomas’s workshop on Monday, planning worship that will be led by the Rev. Dr. Teresa Snorton, LPTS alumna and Executive Director of the National Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, and many other things.
We hope to see all — or at least, many — of our readers at the 3rd Annual Katie Geneva Cannon Lecture on Sunday, March 30, in Gardencourt, and at the events on Monday, March 31.
