Louisville AIDS Walk Sunday Sept. 26

Support Team Women's Center!

The Women’s Center is assembling a team to participate in the Louisville AIDS Walk, Sunday, September 26, here in Louisville. Contacting friends and family and getting them to sponsor you on the walk is a great way to support our Louisville Metro area neighbors who are living with HIV/AIDS and their families, as the money raised by the Walk funds agencies that provide direct services to folks affected by this disease. [Thereby showing our solidarity with our neighbors who need support and care, loving our neighbors as ourselves, and actively performing the gospel.] The Walk itself is also a great way to get together with other members of the LPTS community for a bracingly good time, especially if the weather cooperates.

Click here to go to the Women’s Center’s online Louisville AIDS Walk page, where you can join the Women’s Center team and start raising money — or support the team with a donation — or both!!

On Sunday, September 26, we will gather at the Belvedere downtown about 2:00 p.m. This should give us time to turn in our funds raised and have our team picture taken before The Walk proper begins at 3:00 p.m.

If you will need a ride to downtown, please feel free to contact the Women’s Center at womenscenter@lpts.edu; we will work to set up some rides.

We hope to see you at the Louisville AIDS Walk on Sunday, September 26!

About Ha_Qohelet

Ha_Qohelet is a transliteration of Hebrew definite article plus a feminine participle, all together meaning "the (feminine) one who assembles" or who calls together. Qohelet is the title of one of the books of the Hebrew Scripture, known in English as Ecclesiastes. The Women's Center at LPTS feels the epithet of Qohelet is a fitting one for what we do and are. The Women's Center is, indeed, a caller-together, a caller-to-wisdom, and an assembler -- of people, of ideas, of actions, and ultimately, we hope, of transformations in the world. In this context, Ha_Qohelet is the Director of the Women's Center, and Editor-in-Chief of Wimminwise.
